Braising is a combination cooking method that first involves sautéing or searing an item, then simmering it in liquid for a long cooking period until tender.

At the Spaulding School of Cuisine, we have brought together professionals that will teach you almost all there is to know about braising and the differences between similar styles of cooking, such as stewing! Both use moist heat to slowly cook and tenderize cuts of meat to develop rich flavours, but our professionals will teach you which method works best for which cuts of meat, which size of meat and how braising is done in the oven while stewing is done stove-top!

Classes are conducted one on one as well as in groups depending on community desire.
